Billy L. Bell, Sr., D. Min. acknowledges
his calling to the ministry to preach the gospel on July 23, 1979.
Rev. Bell organized the Judea Missionary Baptist Church in the year
1986 where he served as Pastor for 11 years. Judea started with six
members in 1986 and grew to well over three hundred on roll. In
June of 1997, Pastor Bell, answer the call and challenge to New
Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, in Dallas, Texas where
he is currently serving as Senior Pastor.
Pastor Bell has equipped himself in
God’s Word (2Tim. 2:15), and as a result God has blessed him to
serve in several capacities in God’s Kingdom work.
He is a graduate of New World Bible
Institute with a BTH Degree; Faith Seminary in Tacoma, Washington,
with a MTS. Pastor Bell received an Honorary Doctorate Degree from
Saint Thomas Christian College in Jacksonville, Florida. Pastor
Bell is currently attending Faith Seminary in Tacoma, Washington for
his Doctorate in Ministry.
This
Man of God with great Visions, has a gift of organizing and
Administration. Being led by the Holy Spirit, he stepped out on
faith in God and organized the Trinity of Love & Unity District
Association where he serves as Moderator. In 1998 God led him to
organize the L. L. Harris Church Wide Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio
in memory of his mentor, model, and motivator, Dr. L. L. Harris.
The first conference had over three hundred in attendance. He now
serves as President of the Institute. In 1994 he was appointed as
Director General of Area Coordinators of W.H.W. Ministries, Inc. The
Dr. R. A. Williams made the appointment. In 1995 he was appointed as
Class instructor in the laymen division of WHW, teaching laymen and
Associate Ministers how to serve as Armor bearers to their pastor.
In 2000 he was appointed to Director of Laymen Division of WHW
Ministries. In 2001 he was appointed to the Executive Board of WHW
Ministries. In 1996 he was appointed to Vice President of the
Institutional Missionary Baptist State Convention of Texas by
President Dr. H. J. Johnson. In 1999 he, along with Rev. V. K.
Jones, organized V&B Ministries Inc., where Pastor Bell serves as
Vice President. V&B Ministries involves Marriage Enrichment,
Singles, Men, and Youth Seminars. In 2000 he was appointed as
Director of the Laymen Division of WHW Ministries, Inc. Pastor Bell
organized and implemented a Spring Church Wide Institute at New
Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. The institute included 8 classes with
Dr. R. A. Williams, Jr., Pastor of McCoy Memorial Baptist Church in
Los Angeles, CA. as the Evangelist.
The Spring Institute gave birth to the Fall Church Wide Institute
in November of 2000. The Institute included 12 classes with
preachers across the nation coming in to share. Dr. Frank Ray, Sr.,
Pastor of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee
as the Evangelist. In January 2002 Pastor Bell was appointed as
Conference Director of the Frank Ray Expository Preaching
Teaching/Church Growth Conference. Under Pastor Bell guidance and
the staff of the Frank Ray Conference, nine hundred and seventy-five
attended the day sessions and one thousand eight hundred attended
the night sessions. We, the members of New Pilgrim Rest Baptist
Church praise God for our Visionary leader.
Rev. Bell is married to
Sarah and they have six children between the two of them.
